According to a report released by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce on October 21, the trade volume between Cambodia and member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) reached 29.5 billion US dollars from January to September 2025, an increase of 15.5% compared to the same period in 2024; During the same period, the trade volume with RCEP member countries accounted for 61.6% of Cambodia's total trade, highlighting its position as Cambodia's core trading market. Specifically, in the first nine months of 2025, Cambodia's exports to RCEP member countries amounted to 7.43 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10%; The import volume from RCEP member countries reached 22.07 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of over 17%, and both imports and exports maintained a steady growth trend. From the perspective of trading partners, Cambodia's top five cooperative partners under the RCEP framework are China, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and Singapore, forming the core network of its regional trade.

According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia, the highly anticipated "Funanchong Comprehensive Water Conservancy Project" is expected to officially start construction at the end of November or early December this year. The construction period of this major infrastructure project is four years, and it is expected to be fully completed and put into operation in 2028, which will have a profound impact on Cambodia's economic and social development. Peng Lin, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, revealed that the "Fu Nan De Chong Comprehensive Water Conservancy Project" has entered the stage of detailed investigation and resolution of its impact. The project impact solution involves collaboration among multiple departments, led by relevant mechanisms of the Royal Government, with specific participants including technical personnel from the Ministry of Finance and Economics, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, local government authorities, and the affected population.

The total length of the canal project is about 180 kilometers, and its core goal is to connect Cambodia's inland rivers with the ocean. This strategically significant canal project runs through four provinces of Ganla, Chajiao, Gongbu, and Baima, and can accommodate ships with a maximum load capacity of 3000 tons (3000 DWT) for two-way navigation.
