Compared with the same period last year, the trade volume between Cambodia and China increased by 24.5% in the first eight months of this year, reaching 10.07 billion US dollars, and the trade volume between Cambodia and the United States increased by 10.4%, reaching 6.92 billion US dollars. The United States is Cambodia's second largest trading partner.

Cambodia imported goods worth $8.92 billion from China, $2.76 billion from Vietnam, and $174 million from the United States. As of the end of August 2024, Cambodia's trade deficit with China was $7.77 billion, and its trade surplus with the United States was $6.57 billion.

Data shows that Cambodia's clothing, footwear, and travel goods (GFT) exports have significantly improved, with woven clothing and clothing accessories exports up 20.1% year-on-year and non-woven clothing and clothing accessories exports up 31.9% year-on-year. Shoe exports increased by 22.4% year-on-year, while tourism supplies exports increased by 20.9% year-on-year. For many years, the clothing, footwear, and travel goods production industry has been Cambodia's largest source of export revenue.
