Hun Sen's visit to China: China promises to continue providing assistance and promote more investment
At the invitation of the CPC, Hun Sen, Chairman of the People's Party and President of the Senate, paid an official friendly visit to China from December 2 to 4, and achieved fruitful results. Chinese national leaders have pledged to continue providing Cambodia with free aid and preferential loans, as well as promoting more investment.
On the evening of the 4th, the Senate Secretariat issued a press release stating that during his visit to China, Hun Sen held bilateral talks with General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping, as well as Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji. During the talks, both sides agreed that the close communication and frequent visits between the party and government leaders of the two countries have further consolidated the profound political mutual trust established by previous generations of leaders. The Chinese side reiterates its support for the Cambodian People's Party and the Cambodian government to independently choose a development path that is in line with their own national conditions. Hun Sen reiterated that Cambodia firmly pursues the one China policy and firmly believes that the affairs of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Xizang and Xinjiang are China's internal affairs.
In terms of economic cooperation, Chinese leaders have promised to continue providing Cambodia with free aid and preferential loans, and to promote more investment. The two sides agreed to promote the docking of the "the Belt and Road" initiative with Cambodia's "Five Corners Strategy", enrich the "Diamond Six Sides" cooperation framework, and promote the construction of the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor".

In terms of people to people and cultural exchanges, the two sides said they would deepen exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism, education and training, and youth, and promote understanding and friendship between the two peoples. In terms of defense and security, the two countries agree to strengthen cooperation, especially in combating transnational crimes such as cybercrime, human trafficking, and drug smuggling, to jointly safeguard the security of both countries.
